From the time when the construction of Brasília commenced,
or even back when the idea of building the city was first conceived,
bringing is modern architecture into harmony with natural resources
of Brazil's Central Plateau was made a dominant consideration.
Consequently, an attempt was made to minimize the expansion of the
new capital by adding large green areas to the city's so called
pilot plan.
Latter, the creation of protected areas in the form of parks and
reserve made it possible to preserve the flora, fauna, and water
resources of the region, making Brasilia truly one with nature
Surprisingly, this book reveals to us a very little known facet
of this region the fascinating world of the native orchids of the
Central Plateau, in a publication embodying uniqueness and beauty.
